GNM-X ingredients, one by one

GNM-X has three active plant extracts: rosemary leaf (carnosic acid), ginger root (6-shogaol) and Sophora japonica bud (luteolin), 91 mg together, plus 7 mg of niacin. Each one switches on Nrf2, the protein that makes your cells build their own antioxidant enzymes. One capsule a day.

Rosemary extract: carnosic acid

Rosemary leaf (Rosmarinus officinalis) is where GNM-X gets carnosic acid, the best-studied Nrf2 activator in any culinary herb. It binds KEAP1, the protein that holds Nrf2 back, at the exact cysteines that control it, so Nrf2 is released and the cell raises its glutathione (Satoh et al., 2008, PMID 17995931). In that work carnosic acid also reached the brain and protected neurons from oxidative stress.

Taken by mouth, rosemary extract at 500 mg a day improved markers of oxidative stress in adult women, with liver and kidney values unchanged (Tremêa et al., 2024, PMID 39135397), and a month of oral rosemary improved memory, anxiety and sleep quality in university students against placebo (Nematolahi et al., 2018, PMID 29389474). Looking for a carnosic acid supplement? GNM-X delivers it with two more Nrf2 activators in the same capsule.

Ginger extract: 6-shogaol

Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) brings 6-shogaol, the compound that gives dried ginger its bite. It switched on the Nrf2-ARE pathway in human skin cells and raised Nrf2, NQO1 and HO-1 (Yang et al., 2020, PMID 32429495); a ginger extract rich in 6-shogaol did the same in liver cells and restored the liver's antioxidant enzymes (Bak et al., 2012, PMID 22763741).

In people, ginger supplements lowered CRP and TNF-α across 16 randomized trials with 1,010 participants (Morvaridzadeh et al., 2020, PMID 32763761) and raised glutathione peroxidase and total antioxidant capacity across 12 more (PMID 33458848).

Sophora japonica: luteolin

The flower bud of Sophora japonica is GNM-X's source of luteolin, a flavonoid. Luteolin switched on Nrf2 and four of the enzymes it controls (HO-1, NQO1, GCLC and SOD1) and cut oxidative damage in the liver (Rajput et al., 2021, PMID 34439516). It also calms inflammation through NF-κB, the other switch of the cell's stress response (Aziz et al., 2018, PMID 29801717).

The United States Pharmacopeia's safety review of Sophora flower and bud found no serious adverse events in clinical or animal studies (Madden et al., 2022, PMID 35307893). If you were shopping for a luteolin supplement or a Sophora japonica extract, it is already in GNM-X.

Niacin (vitamin B3)

The US label adds 7 mg of niacin (as niacinamide), 44% of the Daily Value. Niacin is the vitamin your cells turn into NAD, the coenzyme of energy production (Kennedy, 2016, PMID 26828517). It is a nutritional amount, well inside the everyday range.

Why the three work together

Each extract releases Nrf2 in its own way, and the three were also studied as one combination: rosemary, ginger and luteolin in a 10:5:1 ratio activated Nrf2 in human liver cells, raised the protective genes and strengthened the cells against oxidative stress (Hybertson et al., 2022, PMID 35252766). The formula is Nrf2.0® technology from Pathways Bioscience, the company co-founded by Joe McCord, who co-discovered superoxide dismutase, and licensed to Activz.
